As part of a joint venture, Smoot Construction provided construction management services for the expansion of the Greater Columbus Convention Center.  Specific elements of this work included the construction of a 216,000 sf addition on the north end of the existing convention center and the renovation of 200,000 sf of space within the existing facility.  The new addition features 125,000 sf of exhibition space, a new 15,000 sf second floor ballroom and 25,000 sf of retail and prefunction space.

Located right in the heart of a vibrant downtown that's alive with cultural activites, arts, sports and entertainment, the Columbus Convention Center offers nearly 415,000 sf of exposition space spread out in five large exhibition halls.  The facility also provides up to 56 smaller breakout/meeting rooms and two large ballrooms.  The convention center's food court is a popular destination with visitors and employees from local businesses.  The convention center complex is anchored by a 631-room Hyatt Regency Hotel.
