This new church facility was constructed outside the northern suburb of Huntersville, NC on a 26 acre heavily-treed sloping rural site.
The site is bisected by a stream with the main facility on the east parcel with parking for 455 cars, a soccer/football field, a baseball field, an area for a restroom-concessions building, and an area for an education addition. An amphitheater and additional parking is planned for the west parcel.
The new facility has 67,313 square feet of 1st floor area and 13,628 square feet of 2nd floor area. The building has a major narthex-gathering area at the main entrance. From that area is the access to the nursery rooms, the men’s and women’s restrooms, a café/bookstore and the sanctuary.
The sanctuary will seat 2,700 people and has a main floor, rear galleries, and two side galleries that flow up to the balcony. The balcony is also accessed by stairways and an elevator. The balcony also has a set of men’s and women’s restrooms on each side. The chancel platform is large and flat to allow for diverse events and functions. The baptistery, along with the changing rooms, are at the rear of the chancel.
The administrative staff offices are on one side of the building and executive staff is on the other side. The pastor’s suite is on the second floor with stairs and elevator access from that side.
There is a gymnasium that is set up for an NCAA basketball court or can be divided into two high school basketball courts. A commercial kitchen, aerobic room, weight rooms, storage rooms, and restroom-locker rooms surround the gymnasium. There are entrances from the sides so areas can be isolated for different uses.
