The site is a 2.49 acre parcel that is located in a developed downtown area with major streets on three sides and a cemetery on the fourth side.
The new church building is the main structure of the multi-use complex which includes church worship center & chapel, community center, grocery store, apartments, and parking garage. The church building has a 1st floor of 50,010 square feet, a 2nd floor of 21,528 square feet, a 3rd floor of 54,724 square feet, and an upper balcony of 1,933 square feet.
The main entrance is from George Street into a large narthex with a café/bookstore on one side, classrooms and nursery suite on the other side with access to the chapel, and the entrance to the sanctuary in front. The chapel and the café/bookstore both have direct entrances from the exterior. The chapel will seat 280 people.
The sanctuary will seat 2,000 people and has a main floor, rear galleries, and two side galleries that flow up to the balcony. The balcony is also accessed by stairways and an elevator. The balcony has a set of men’s and women’s restrooms on each side. The chancel platform is large and flat to allow for diverse events and functions. The baptistery, along with the changing rooms, are at the rear of the chancel at a level above the chancel (the third level).
There are seventeen classrooms at the second floor level. Much of the corridor that accesses these classrooms overlooks the narthex below.
The access to the balcony is from the third level lobby. The administrative staff offices are on one side of this lobby and executive staff is on the other side.
There is a youth gymnasium that is the size of a high school basketball court on one side of the building on this level. There is a fellowship hall that will seat 768 people at tables, kitchen, restrooms, and music suite on the other side. The fellowship hall can also be accessed from the major entrance from Morris Street.
