


Primary Responsibility: Responsible for the proactive maintenance, updating and operation of servers, computer network and desktop systems including providing help desk services to the end users.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Ensuring that data is backed up daily according to company IT policies and standards.
Ensuring that all necessary software patches and updates are applied in a timely fashion to all systems.
Maintaining user accounts.
Providing help desk services to end users.
Troubleshooting IT system problem and errors.
Monitoring resource utilization and reporting on potential bottlenecks, performance tuning systems to minimize IT costs.
Maintaining web servers, email servers and DNS.
Generating and maintaining IT related reports.
Maintaining and enforcing IT standards and policies.
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience requirements may include:
Associates degree in IT, MIS, Computer Science or equivalent experience and IT certification.
1 – 2 years experience with a Unix operating system
1 – 2 years experience with Windows operating systems
Experience with PC and Server hardware
Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking
Experience with Apache web server, Internet email servers, DNS and relational database systems
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Planning and project management skills
