Open Position: Project Manager

Primary Responsibility:

Provide overall administrative and technical management on a small to medium construction project(s) from bid through final acceptance by client.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

1. Provide initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete the project. Plan, organize and staff key field positions with supervisor direction/approval.

2. Prepare complete estimate/job cost with detailed review of bid proposal, proposed specifications, drawings, take-off and buy-out information, contracting, etc. with supervisor direction/approval.

3. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy. Include safety management/adherence.

4. Supervise and manage in a pro-active manner the total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, other contractors, etc.

5. Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on site superintendent/management team to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.

6. Represent the company at all project meetings, negotiations, etc. with supervisor direction/approval on all critical issues.

7. Manage all financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interests and simultaneously maintain positive client relationship with supervisor direction/approval.

8. Responsible for efficient resource allocation/management as required to facilitate projects(s).

9 Perform additional assignments as directed by company executives.

 

Skills, Knowledge, Education, and Experience may include:

1. 4 year engineering or construction degree, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.

2. 3 top 5 years construction management, finance, estimating, and construction supervision experience. Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize team member performance.

3. Knowledge of all aspects of construction technology, equipment and methods, union labor jurisdictions, negotiations, engineering, construction costs and estimating, scheduling (CPM Network), and safety is required.

4. Organizational, interpersonal, communication (verbal, written, and presentation), supervisory, and computer skills required.

5. Understanding of corporate policy and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is essential.

Additional Comments:

1. Position has direct profit/loss responsibility. Responsible for schedule and job cost control/adherence. Assume responsibility for contractual performance of the project.

2. Must be a business oriented person.

3. Acts with supervision.
